SXSW 2015 Catch Up: The Digital Shift
March 16, 2015
Did you catch the buzz around the SXSW presentation 'The Digital Shift: Tomorrow's Relationships and Ideals' by our very own Labsters over the weekend?
At The Lab, we've been thinking about the impact of the latest ‘game changing’ technologies may have upon who we are in the future. From the latest generation of wearables and the biometric revolution, through to Oculus Rift and the future of virtual reality, along with great excitement and possibility comes great tension and concern about how our lives may transform.
Our presentation explored some of the transformations that may be in store for us as today’s innovations become seemingly more pervasive in our daily lives, and the subsequent roles that brands can have in this climate.

Daniel and Kristy also caught up with Mumbrella editor Alex Hayes as part of a panel to discuss the applications and limitations on artificial intelligence, how virtual reality will change the world of content and gaming, and what limits should be placed on these technologies.
Note: Apologies for the poor picture quality which occurred due to a poor internet connection which led to the last few minutes of the conversation being lost.
You can also read a synopsis of their presentation here.
Cherry picking some global coverage:
· Jared Leavitt, VP of Technology Strategy, a digital communication agency based in New York and San Fran, summarises the discussion nicely here.
· If you're fluent in Dutch, as we are, you can also check out this article by Numrush in Amsterdam. ;)
We will be sharing a video of the presentation in the coming weeks. In the meantime, you can catch up on the buzz at: https://twitter.com/thelabfeed
